Beware of bogus emails
We are aware of a number of email campaigns claiming to be from
Student Finance England. These bogus emails (phishing) may ask you
to provide your security details. If you receive a suspicious email
please forward it immediately to security@slc.co.uk.
Protecting you and your information is paramount to Student
Finance England. Remember we will never email you asking for login
or user details. It's easy to protect yourself online - to find out

Payment information update
If you have registered and your university has confirmed this,
your payment will be paid within the next few days.
Payment dates vary depending on the university or college you
attend. You can check your payment release date by logging
into your online account and should allow a few working days for
the funds to reach your bank account.
Social media surgeries
We host regular student finance surgeries on Facebook and
Twitter, normally on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Follow us for
details and times: facebook.com/SFEngland
and twitter.com/sf_england.
Post your student finance questions during our surgery hours for a
real-time response or leave comments which will be responded to
during these designated slots.
2012/13 Student Finance England service is now open!
New and continuing students can apply online at www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance.
Students don't need to have a confirmed place at university to
apply. We're encouraging students to apply online as early as
possible to make sure they get the money they're entitled to at the
start of term.
The deadline for submitting applications is 31 May for new
students and 29 June for continuing students.

Students attending courses in Scotland
Please note that the changes to fee charges for students from
the rest of the UK attending a course in Scottish HEI, coming into
play in Academic Year 2012/13, will not apply to students who have
started their course before 2012. More information can be found
here.
Need to change your course?
If you need to change any details about the university/college
or course you'll be attending this year, do it now to make sure you
can be paid at the start of your course. You can change your
